Anger

Acting out of anger.

In life we all have reactive behaviors.  With time and experience we learn to control them for the most part, but there is always going to be that one time when someone really disappoints you or is so dishonest that you cannot control your reaction. That’s because you feel betrayed and taken advantage of.

Businesses are a huge reason for reactive behaviors. If you’ve trusted someone or supported someone and they not only disappoint you but make you feel violated in a way of trust, you will be reactive toward that business. Even if you had good experiences in the past with a business or person, a line of trust that’s crossed causing your personal pain will ultimately be the reason for your reactions.

There was a time in life I would go after someone for not only hurting us, but to prevent hurting others. I no longer react in that manner. Age and experience taught me that the best way to handle these kinds of situations is to stop supporting the business or person. Your absence is more valuable than your words. Your absence will cause pause and will eventually lead to the truth.

I have changed. I no longer allow others to have a say in my choice to keep someone or a business in our network or in our lives. The truth never lies, only people do. Someone that can’t accept their own mistakes will never be an honest person in life. This will overflow into their business or their surroundings. We’ve all made mistakes and we’ve all made poor decisions and choices in our lives. Accept that and try to correct yourself. Failure to accept and correct is the reason your life is still a struggle and the reason your business is still a negative space in the community.

Doing good for others isn’t always appreciated. Some regardless of how much you do will never thank you and others will feel entitled to all that you have. I’ve made so many mistakes trying to help others and their businesses.

Doing good brings on different people. Those who just want to squash your good deeds. Those who just want to take advantage of your kindness and those who just steal from you if given the chance. Even volunteers that create chaos in the community can and will bring negative situations to your doorstep. Trying to do good for you but creating bad press all around you.

The only thing you have control of, is yourself. Your reactions and your behaviors.  One horrific experience can cause all the greatness to disappear. Your absence will be noticed, even you can’t see it. But if you need more than that, my mum always said, stop spending your money on the wrong businesses and on the wrong people.

Anger only causes you more personal pain. So be angry and then move past it.

Life is one reactive behavior. Choose to proactive in your reactions.
