From almost starving to death, to a happy girl healing. Poor nutrition can cause hair loss and balding along with environmental causes.
She’s on the mend now. Attaching very quickly to us. But make no mistakes, she is not out of the woods yet.
Refeeding syndrome.
What does that mean? Although it is tempting to feed these patients as much as they want to eat, refeeding syndrome is a life-threatening condition that must be avoided for the patient's survival. She must eat small amounts until it is safe for her to have a normal meal. This is a very long healing process.
Over feeding out of sympathy can cause her organs and blood sugar to crash resulting in loss of life.
there are other things that will come into play as she heals, and we’ll address those things when they come up. Food aggression, gorging, manic behaviors, anxiety, and the inability to be calm after eating and drinking.
